It's official - Newcastle is the best place in the UK.
It's been voted as our favourite in a nationwide poll over on our sister recommendations site 2Chill.
More than 6,000 readers of Reach publications cast their vote and had their say on their favourite towns, cities, counties and even countries, with the north east city coming out on top, seeing off strong competition from Liverpool and Belfast.
But what is it that so many of us love about Newcastle?
You agreed that it offers something for everyone - the wild expanse of the town moor, one of the country’s most famous bridges, Michelin star restaurants, a street dubbed the most beautiful in Britain and a football stadium right in the centre.
And it wasn't just the locals that sent the city soaring to the number one spot, its friendly and welcoming people mean that visitors love it too.

Angela Monaghan added: “There is not any other city like ours it’s just fantastic.”
Meanwhile, Tracy Williamson recalled the feeling of warmth you get when you return from a spell away.
She said: “Tyne Bridge is a landmark for Home when you’ve been on holiday.”
