Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin ruled out of Crystal Palace clash with hamstring injury

Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin has been withdrawn from the squad to face Crystal Palace due to a hamstring injury.

The winger pulled up in training at Benton in the build-up to the game and will not feature against the Eagles.

Chronicle Live understands that Newcastle will line up with a different system at Selhurst Park and Steve Bruce is ready to make a clutch of changes tonight.

Saint-Maximin's withdrawal comes days after some public criticism from club legend Alan Shearer who said: "Allan Saint-Maximin hasn't broken a sweat since signing his new six-year contract."

Saint-Maximin had a poor show against Southampton in a 2-0 defeat and while he created a good chance against Chelsea he could not prevent another loss.

Newcastle opted against commenting on whether Saint-Maximin was set to be dropped this evening for the clash with Roy Hodgson's Eagles.
