Come on Eileen (and everybody else) - the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend will provide a chance to become reacquainted with one of the eighties' most memorable music stars.
Kevin Rowland, the Bohemian-looking frontman of Dexys Midnight Runners whose stomping folk-soul numbers sent music fans wild back in the day, is to bringing his DJ skills to bear at a Great Northern Soul Food night at the Boiler Shop in Newcastle .
The singer-songwriter, and co-founder of the band which shot to the top of the charts in the early eighties with the likes of Come On Eileen and Gino, appeared at the event last year - and it proved a sell-out success.
He even treated the crowd to some singing.
So, the music-maker will be back in the Grade ll-listed building on August 25, the Sunday of the Bank Holiday weekend, just a week after his 66th birthday.
And no doubt there will be plenty there to help him celebrate as he headlines with a DJ show at the event which will serve up a mix of disco, punk, reggae and soul alongside, of course, plenty of tasty dishes which are described as being some of the street food around.
The Great Northern Soul Food event - for over-18s only - will get under way on the day at 5pm and continue until midnight.
