Newcastle want Miguel Almiron to return but Paraguay are yet to confirm playmaker's release

Newcastle United want Miguel Almiron to return to England ahead of the start of training next week after learning he was suspended for the World Cup clash with Bolivia.

The playmaker was booked in the last few minutes of Paraguay's 1-1 draw with Argentina in Buenos Aires last night.

However, while he is unavailable to play in their next game, the Paraguay FA are yet to confirm his release back to the Magpies and say they would prefer he stayed around for the clash in Asuncion.

Enrique Sánchez, of the Paraguayan FA, told DeportesUno650: " Miguel Almirón is being evaluated, there is the possibility that he will already travel to England.

"We want him to stay for Tuesday"

Newcastle face Chelsea on Saturday at 12.30pm and want Almiron to get the best possible preparation for the big game now he's clear to play.
