Newcastle vs Spurs team news: Three key changes as Jamaal Lascelles ruled out

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce restored Fabian Schar to the centre of his defence and dropped Javier Manquillo after his penalty blunder at Watford.

The Switzerland international has been operating in midfield but Nabil Bentaleb and Jonjo Shelvey were patrolling the engine room area against Spurs tonight.

Emil Krafth came in at left-back for the ineligible Danny Rose while Yedlin replaced Manquillo.

Jamaal Lascelles failed to shake off an ankle injury meaning Jonjo Shelvey captained the side

But Bruce's options were laid bare on the sidelines with youngsters such as Tom Allan and Jack Young named as subs.

Allan Saint-Maximin was also deemed fit to start despite picking up a knock in the 2-1 loss at Vicarage Road.

Dwight Gayle went into the match looking to add his recent good form and looking for more after three goals since lockdown.
