Newcastle vs Manchester City prediction and odds: More Premier League points on the cards for Pep Guardiola's side

Check out our 5/6 Newcastle vs Manchester City prediction below

Pep Guadiola's side could hardly be in better form and it will be something of a surprise if they didn't make it eight Premier League wins on the spin when they face Newcastle on Sunday.

City are 1/6 with Grosvenor Sport to do just that while the hosts are a huge 15/1 to cause what would undoubtedly go down as a shock. It's 7/1 that Eddie Howe's side even get a point out of this game, which merely highlights the gulf in class between these sides.

City haven't lost on the road since the opening day of the season, when they were quite obviously undercooked for the trip to Spurs, and they head to St James' Park in confident mood after thrashing Leeds in midweek.

Pep's table-toppers are firing on all cylinders at both ends of the pitch, indeed they gave up a combined xGA of just 0.42 against Wolves and Leeds and it's going to take something special from this struggling Newcastle outfit to break down this well-oiled City rearguard.

Considering Newcastle have won just one game all season, it's actually surprising that they are not completely out of touch with the other sides in the relegation zone, but seven draws mean the Toon are hanging in there.

Whilst there have been definite signs of improvement, a tricky run of fixtures is making it even harder for Newcastle to build up any sort of momentum and they remain handicapped by an inability to keep clean sheets (just one all season).

Newcastle have shipped 20 goals at St James' Park this season, the second-highest total in the Premier League, and City's offensive players will be licking their lips at the prospect of playing against a side with such a leaky defence.

Newcastle vs Manchester City prediction

The outright match odds tell their own story here and City's 1/6 price is obviously not one that the casual punter would entertain, even as an accumulator leg.

However, given City's price, it's actually a little surprising that we can back City to win to nil at odds of 5/6, so that has to be the wager given City are such a strong defensive unit.

Recommended bet: City to win to nil - 5/6
