Newcastle vs Man City, FA Cup preview: Prediction, kick-off time, team news, TV channel, h2h, odds

Newcastle face the FA Cup holders Manchester City at St. James' Park this afternoon, aiming to reach the semi-finals for the first time since 2005.

The Magpies have not lost to City in their last two meetings and know victory will see them book a cup trip to Wembley for the first time since the new stadium opened.

Pep Guardiola's men have won nine FA Cup games on the spin dating back to January 2019 and will be keen to remain on course for a second domestic trophy of the campaign.

The victors will progress to the semis, which will be staged on the weekend beginning July 18.

Date, time and venue

Newcastle vs Man City is scheduled for a kick-off time of 6:30pm BST at St. James. Park on Sunday, June 28.

Team news

Newcastle XI: Darlow, Manquillo, Schar, Lascelles, Fernandez, Rose, Saint-Maximin, Hayden, Sean Longstaff, Almiron, Carroll

Subs: Dubravka, Shelvey, Joelinton, Gayle, Muto, Krafth, Yedlin, Lazaro, Matthew Longstaff

Man City XI: Bravo, Walker, Otamendi, Laporte, Mendy, Gundogan, Silva (C), Mahrez, De Bruyne, Sterling, Jesus

Subs: Ederson, Stones, Zinchenko, Rodrigo, Sane, Bernardo, Cancelo, Foden, Harwood-Bellis

Prediction: Newcastle 1-3 Man City

(PA)

A packed out St. James' Park would have been a daunting proposition for Manchester City but the empty stands will no doubt play into the holders' favour.

City arrive in the north east wounded having surrendered their Premier League crown with seven games to play in the campaign. Pep Guardiola will be determined to respond by moving a step closer to the seventh major trophy of his City reign.
