Mohamed Salah is a doubt to face Barcelona in the Champions League second-leg after the Egyptian was substituted due to a head injury against Newcastle.
Salah collided with Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka and appeared to fall unconscious when he hit the floor, lying prone for around five minutes while being treated by medical staff.
The Egyptian was eventually carried off on a stretcher by the medics to sympathetic applause from both sets of fans and appeared to be in tears.
The game was tied 2-2 at the time, before Jamaal Lascelles late own-goal kept Liverpool’s title hopes alive as the Reds wait nervously for an update on their star man.
Speaking about the injury after the game, Klopp said: ”We have to see, he had a proper knock on the head so he watched the game inside, he was OK. But we have to do further assessment of course.’’
