Despite a frankly awful season for Jurgen Klopp’s side, three points at St James’ Park would take them within six points of the Magpies, while they also boast a game in hand. That, however, will be easier said than done.
Eddie Howe’s team have only been beaten once this season – against Liverpool ironically enough – and are yet to taste defeat on home soil. While they are somewhat out of form at the moment amid a recent spate of draws, it’d take a brave observer to bet against this Newcastle team.
