Newcastle vs Fulham lineups: Starting XIs, Anthony Gordon injury latest and confirmed team news

Anthony Gordon has been declared fit to start for Newcastle against Fulham today.

A fresh issue for the young winger had reared its head for the Magpies during the Champions League defeat to AC Milan, after which Eddie Howe confirmed he substituted the winger due to a hamstring issue.

The Newcastle boss revealed: "We are getting a couple of players back but not in their best physical condition.

"Then you’ve got players that are having to keep playing that are picking up things. Kieran [Trippier] is missing through suspension. We will see how Anthony [Gordon] is today."

The winger was assessed ahead of this afternoon's game and makes the XI, unlike Harvey Barnes who has suffered a fresh setback in training.

A long injury list has been partly responsible for Newcastle's poor form of late and Kieran Trippier is also absent, due to a one-game ban for accruing five yellow cards. Dan Burn returned in midweek and starts today.

Sven Botman is a welcome sight back in the squad after injury.

Alexander Isak remains on the bench as he was against Milan, with Callum Wilson up front.

For Fulham, Willian is on the bench after being taken off at half-time of the 5-0 win over West Ham due to a hamstring issue.

Adama Traore remains out along with Tim Ream, who is unlikely to play before Christmas.

Newcastle XI: Dubravka; Livramento, Lascelles, Schar, Burn; Longstaff, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Almiron, Wilson, Gordon

Subs: Karius, Gillespie, Dummett, Botman, Ritchie, Krafth, Hall, A. Murphy, Miley

Injuries: Pope, Willock, Targett, Manquillo, J. Murphy, Anderson, Barnes

Suspensions: Trippier, Tonali

Fulham XI: Leno; Castagne, Adarabioyo, Bassey, Robinson; Palhinha, Cairney; Iwobi, Pereira, Wilson; Jimenez

Subs: Rodak, Tete, Ballo-Toure, Reed, Lukic, De Cordova-Reid, Willian, Muniz, Vinicius
