Newcastle vs Arsenal: Prediction, tickets, live stream, TV channel, lineups - Premier League 2019-20 preview

Newcastle vs Arsenal
Premier League 2019-20
Venue: St James' Park
Date: Sunday August 11, 2019
Kick-off time: 2pm BST

Arsenal's Premier League campaign kicks off on Tyneside on Sunday as the Gunners take on a Newcastle United side under new management.

Steve Bruce is now in charge of the Magpies following Rafael Benitez's summer exit, and will need to hit the ground running if club owner Mike Ashley is to avoid further fan fury.

As for Arsenal, Unai Emery's main task this year is a top-four finish after missing out on Champions League football last year - and the £72million club-record signing of Nicolas Pepe seems to suggest that he sees goals as the answer.

Here is what you need to know...

Newcastle vs Arsenal team news and predicted lineups

(Selections based on likely transfer window moves as of 4pm on deadline day).

Emery is hopeful that Alexandre Lacazette will be fit after missing the Gunners' last two pre-season games due to an ankle injury.

Dani Ceballos could return, while record signing Nicolas Pepe may be a bench option - but his lack of pre-season minutes may mean he is only available for a cameo.

Hector Bellerin is still out following his ACL knee injury last season, but says he is only a few weeks away from first-team training.

Konstantinos Mavropanos (knock) and Rob Holding (knee) are both out, meaning David Luiz could make his Arsenal debut in the north east - if his move from Chelsea is completed.

Fellow likely new signing Kieran Tierney remains sidelined due to injury.

Florian Lejeune (knee) and Jack Colback (groin) are both out for Newcastle, while Matt Ritchie (thigh) is a major doubt.

DeAndre Yedlin (groin) is in with a chance of returning but may not have enough match fitness to start, and the same goes for Dwight Gayle (calf).

Newcastle XI: Dubravka, Manquillo, Schar, Lascelles, Fernandez, Aarons, Hayden, Longstaff, Shelvey, Almiron, Joelinton

Arsenal XI: Leno, Maitland-Niles, David Luiz, Chambers, Monreal, Guendouzi, Xhaka, Ceballos, Ozil, Aubameyang, Lacazette

Prediction: Newcastle 2-3 Arsenal

This Arsenal side could as as good up front as they are bad in defence, and Gunners fans should be in for a few high-scoring games this year.

It would be no surprise to see Arsenal leave Tyneside with three points and a few goals, though the Magpies will also be confident of causing Emery's men problems.
