Birmingham City 0-2 Reading: George Evans doubles Reading’s lead at St Andrew’s. Harry Redknapp’s side have won just one league match so far this season.

Partick Thistle 3-4 Aberdeen: Aberdeen are now leading by the odd goal of seven after Adam Rooney gives them the lead again after 84 minutes.

Celtic equalise against St Johnstone: Callum McGregor equalises for Celtic against St Johnstone after good work by Scott Sinclair.

Some goals in League One: Blackburn Rovers have gone 3-1 up against MK Dons, it’s Plymouth Argyle 0-3 Scunthorpe at Home Park and Bristol Rovers now lead Fleetwood Town 3-1. It’s all square between Gillingham and Southend in a 3-3 thriller.

GOAL! Newcastle 2-0 West Ham

Slaven Bilic’s woes continue as West Ham head for their third league defeat of the season. Ciaran Clarke gets on the end of a Matt Ritchie cross to give Newcastle a buffer zone.

Millwall 4-0 Norwich: Norwich concede four goals away from home for the second time in a week, as Shaun Hutchinson rubber-stamps what is certain to be Millwall’s first win of the season. I repeat - I was supposed to be at the match with a Norwich fan. Thank christ work intervened.

Barnsley 3-0 Sunderland: George “Son of John” Moncur scores for Barnsley as Sunderland’s travelling support pour out of Oakwell in disgust upon seeing their team go three goals down. A quick return to the Premier League looks very, very unlikely.

Burton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesaday: Substitute Joe Mason scores with his first touch to restore parity for Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium.

AFC Wimbledon score two in quick succession: Having failed to score in their four previous home games, AFC Wimbledon score two in as many minutes to lead Doncaster Rovers. Kwesi Appiah and Andy Barcham with the goals there.

Partick Thistle 3-3 Aberdeen: Niall “Son of Martin” Keown equalises for Partick Thistle in what sounds like a belting match in the Scottish Premiership.

Ipswich go further behind: Fulham are 2-0 up against Ipswich, whose winning streak looks to be coming to an end. Rui Fonte has scored for the Cottagers after a Neeskens Kebano shot was parried into his path.

A humdinger in Scotland: It’s Partick Thistle 2-3 Aberdeen at Firhill, where Scott Wright has given Aberdeen the lead again. Kenny McLean had equalised for Derek McInnes’s side just before half-time.

GOAL! Crystal Palace 0-2 Swansea City

Jordan Ayew takes two bites of the cherry, following up on a rebound of his own shot that Wayne Hennessey could only parry into his path. The natives are getting restless at Selhurst Park, where the home team is being loudly booed. Palace manager Frank De Boer is enduring a baptism of fire.

Sheffield United double their lead: Johnny Russell scores into his own net on what sounds like a calamitous afternoon for Derby County.

Millwall 3-0 Norwich City: Crikey! Jed Wallace makes it 3-0 just before half-time at the Den. That’s a paddling.

Celtic behind: Steven Maclean has given St Johnstone an unlikely lead against Celtic, who have not lost a domestic match since May 2016. Their conquerers on that occasion? St Johnstone.

Jeremy Dresner writes: “That Britos red card for Watford was a very very dark shade of red,” he says. “High, over the top, dangerous right in front of the assistant ref. Anthony Knockaert will wind up a lot of full-backs this season but that was ludicrous.”

More goals in the Championship: Sheffield Wednesday are a goal up at Burton Albion, with Gary Hooper opening the scoring. Meanwhile at Portman Road, Fulham have taken the lead against Ipswich Town. Neeskens Kebano, who doesn’t stand much more than 5ft in his socks, has headed the Cottagers ahead.

Red card! Watford down to 10 men

Miguel Britos is sent off for an atrocious challenge on Brighton’s Anthony Knockaert. That’s his fourth red card as a Watford player and his team are down to 10 men.

Cardiff City equalise: Junior Hoilett makes it all square at the Cardiff City stadium.

More goals in League Two: Cheltenham City 2-0 Exeter City, Colchester United 2-0 Fleetwood Town.

QPR lead Cardiff City: Matt Smith heads QPR into the lead against the Championship leaders, rising unopposed to leave Cardiff manager Neil Warnock apoplectic on the sideline.

Millwall score a quick-fire double: I was supposed to be at the Den today with a Norwich-supporting pal until work intervened. She’ll not be best pleased, as Norwich have gone two down. Lee Gregory gave Millwall the lead in the 15th minute and George Saville doubled it two minutes later.

Partick Thistle take the lead! Kris Doolan fires the Jags ahead against Aberdeen.

Partick Thistle equalise: The Jags have equalised against Aberdeen at Firhill Stadium, with Chris Erskine getting the equaliser.

A goal in the Championship: Sheffield United have taken the lead against Derby County at Bramall Lane. Derby goalkeeper Scott Carson made a pig’s ear of a clearance and Billy Sharp reacted quickest to score into an empty net from 25 yards out.

An early goal in Scotland: Kilmarnock are a goal up against Hamilton Academical, the only team in the Premier League or Scottish Premiership that’s named after a school. I learned that in a pub quiz recently.

An early goal in League One: Derrick Williams has fired Blackburn Rovers ahead against MK Dons at Ewood Park with just two minutes on the clock.

Miss! Jordan Ayew has spurned a good chance for Swansea at Crystal Palace. He should have done better with a diving header after good work by Tammy Abraham down the left, but sent his effort wide.

Not long now ...

It’s almost time. As players the length and breadth of the country exchange last-minute fist-bumps, hugs and high-fives ahead of today’s 3pm kick-offs. Who’ll score first in the Premier League? West Ham’s Michail Antonio for me, Clive.

Match report: Bournemouth 1-2 Man City

Ben Fisher was the Guardian’s man at the Vitality Stadium and here’s his on the whistle take on a massively entertaining match in which Manchester City left it very, very late to take all three points.

An email from JR in Illinois

“Regarding the photo of Obiang (and Ince for that matter),” he says. “As a wise man once said: ‘They’re all just.... headphones’.”

Full time: Bournemouth 1-2 Manchester City

Peep! Peep! Peeeeeep! It’s all over at the Vitality Stadium, where Raheem Sterling scooped the ball into the net - it took a deflection off Andrew Surman on its way - in the ninth minute of added time to steal all three points for Manchester City. He was subsequently sent off for jumping into the crowd in the course of his celebrations, earning himself a second yellow card.

A minute or two previously, Josh King missed a decent chance to win it for Bournemouth in a massively entertaining, often bad-tempered affair where referee Mike Dean showed 11 yellow cards and one red. We’ll have a report up shortly, but here’s how Rob Smyth saw it unfold ...

Today's Premier League fixtures

Bournemouth and Manchester City got the ball rolling in today’s early kick-off at the Vitality Stadium, where it’s 1-1 at the start of the second half. Bournemouth dominated the early stages and took the lead courtesy of a Charlie Daniels screamer. Gabriel Jesus equalised for Manchester City, who have taken complete control of the game since going behind in the 13th minute. You can follow that one here with Rob Smyth.
