The Premier League have confirmed that Newcastle’s clash with Manchester City tomorrow WILL still go ahead as planned - for now.
Six top-flight fixtures have already fallen victim to coronavirus as outbreaks continue to plague clubs across the country.
Aston Villa v Burnley is the latest fixture to be rescheduled due to several confirmed cases in the Villa squad - just hours before the game was set to kick off.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank called for all Premier League games to be postponed before his side’s trip to Southampton - which was subsequently cancelled - to help “break the chain” of Covid that is currently disrupting the English game.
Eddie Howe also demanded clarity from top-flight chiefs following Newcastle’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool, raising concerns about the league’s integrity if some clubs were to have several games in hand on others.
However, the Premier league have bullishly refused to reschedule any more matches and released a statement following the Villa v Burnley postponement.
It read: “Due to more positive cases in the Aston Villa squad today, the Premier League Board has regrettably had to postpone the club’s home fixture against Burnley, due to kick off at 15:00 GMT this afternoon.
“The League understands the decision to postpone the match at such short notice will frustrate and disappoint supporters, and apologises for the inconvenience and disruption caused.
“The remaining four Premier League matches due to be played this weekend are currently scheduled to proceed as planned.
"The Board assesses applications to postpone matches on a case-by-case basis, based on existing rules and COVID-19 postponement guidance issued to all clubs.”
