Newcastle United warn Liverpool fans not to buy tickets for Premier League clash

Newcastle United are warning Liverpool fans not to obtain tickets in the home end for their Premier League clash at St James' Park next month.

The Reds travel to Tyneside on Saturday, May 4 (kick-off 7.45pm) for a game that could have a huge bearing on the destination of the Premier League title.

Liverpool have already sold out their allocation for the fixture, which will be their final away league game of the season.

Tickets go on sale to home fans on Thursday morning to club members who have attended at least one game at St James' Park this campaign.

And Newcastle have released a statement urging travelling fans not to sit in the home end – and for Toon Army followers not to pass such tickets on to Reds supporters.

It read: “The club are aware that there is a demand for tickets from Liverpool supporters way in excess of their allocation and would urge Newcastle United fans not to try and sell their tickets to visiting fans, as this would be a breach of the terms and conditions of their ticket.

“Newcastle United would also appeal to Liverpool fans not to try and obtain tickets in the home areas of St James' Park, as it is a breach of the stadium ground regulations for away fans to be in home fan areas.

“Any Liverpool fan found in home areas will be ejected from the stadium.

“Tickets will not be released for general sale. Liverpool began selling their allocation of 3,231 tickets earlier this month and away supporters not in possession of a ticket are urged not to travel.”
