Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur: Lee Ryder's Premier League prediction

Newcastle United somehow emerged with a point from the reverse fixture against Spurs back in late September.

As one of the few Geordies with the privilege of attending the game that day, walking away with a draw - earned via a VAR-awarded penalty in the 98th minute - felt like a victory as Callum Wilson calmly slotted home deep into stoppage time.

That was at a time when the luck seemed to be with Newcastle and they were picking up points despite playing below standard.

Regardless of what happens elsewhere this weekend, some fans may privately take a point from this fixture at St James' Park this time around but few would admit it because the Magpies are so desperate for wins.

Lee Ryder's prediction

Unsurprisingly, Spurs are favourites to win this fixture at 4/7 with Bet 365.

It's not hard to see why they are fancied to repeat their exploits in their last game at Aston Villa when they ran out easy winners in a 2-0 victory in the second city.

One of the levellers this time around though could be the amount of Spurs players on international duty where some participated in three games in six days.

If Callum Wilson gets a chance to play, I'll stick my neck out and go for a battling draw.

Betting

That draw with Bet 365 is 3/1, while the Newcastle win is 9/2 to those feeling really brave.
