It would be an easy trap to fall into to think that Southampton's 9-0 defeat at Manchester United makes this a straight-forward affair for Newcastle.
For a start, the Saints took three points without barely laying a glove on United on the South Coast earlier this season and Newcastle were second best.
Despite the mauling in Manchester, Ralph Hasenhüttl's side have won more games, scored more goals and lost less games than United.
The Magpies need to get their own house in order before expecting a big win.

This time last week if you'd been offered six points from a possible nine against Everton, Crystal Palace and Southampton, you'd have probably accepted it the way the Magpies have been performing.
The shock win at Everton was followed by a disappointing defeat against Palace.
But they can still end the week on a high, for all their troubles, I think Newcastle will secure three points and a much needed home win.
