Newcastle United named Callum Wilson in their starting line-up again after the player missed a chunk of pre-season with a slight knock.
And Allan Saint-Maximin was also back in the fray after being named on the bench for today's clash with the Canaries.
Steve Bruce is still without Karl Darlow - who is recovering from Covid - meaning Freddie Woodman started between the posts.
With the new season just eight days away and Darlow having no pre-season minutes to his name, Woodman is in with a shout of playing against West Ham next weekend, with Martin Dubravka currently injured.
Miguel Almiron also made a return to the action after completing his rest period following the Copa America.
Bruce said in his pre-season programme notes: "We have been careful not to take any risks with Callum Wilson in the last two friendlies while Allan Saint-Maximin has been ill."
In another bonus for Bruce, Jonjo Shelvey also took a place on the bench as he looks to add to his 30 minute run out at Burnley in the 1-0 defeat this week.
