Newcastle United vs Manchester United: How to listen on radio as pay-per-view begins

Newcastle United are back in Premier League action on Saturday evening, as they welcome Manchester United to St. James' Park.

It's been a somewhat positive start to the season for the Magpies, who are on seven points from their opening four matches.

Meanwhile, Man United - who have played one game less than Steve Bruce's men - are on just three points and are desperate for a win.

Here is how to listen to live coverage of the match on the radio, as the Premier League introduces its controversial pay-per-view scheme.

When and where is it?

The match takes place on Saturday, October 17, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm at St. James’ Park in Newcastle.

How to listen to the match on radio?

The game will be available to listen to on talkSPORT, with coverage beginning at 7:30pm, following Manchester City vs Arsenal.

TalkSPORT is available across the United Kingdom, via DAB digital radio and on 1089 or 1053 AM.

As well as this, you can listen to the game on the talkSPORT app, which is available to download on iOS or Android, as well as the website which can be found here.

You can also listen on BBC Radio Newcastle, while we will be covering the game live in our matchday blog.

Previous meetings

The last time these two sides met for a competitive fixture was on Boxing Day last year, and Man United came out 4-1 winners.

Anthony Martial's two goals, and one each for Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford were too much for Bruce's side, who went 1-0 up through Matty Longstaff's strike at Old Trafford.

However, in the other fixture between the sides last season, it was Longstaff again who scored for Newcastle and that was the only goal of the game - meaning three points for Newcastle.

In the last five meetings, United have won three, whilst the Magpies have come out victorious on two occasions.
