Newcastle United vs Liverpool: Lee Ryder's weekend Premier League preview

Newcastle United face one of their toughest tests of 2019 in the final home game of the season.

The Magpies will try to take some confidence out of the fact they beat Manchester City back in January but that required a huge effort and catching the champions on an off night.

But with Liverpool feeling disappointed and jaded after their Champions League trip to the Nou Camp, this could be a good time to play them.

Lee Ryder's prediction

It's incredible to think that Liverpool could get to 97 points and not win the Premier League title.

However, while Rafa Benitez is revered on Merseyside by Liverpool fans he will be trying to make sure that the maximum tally they can get to his 94.

There will be no favours from Benitez and this is a tough fixture for the men from Anfield.

I expect United to put up a good fight here and it could end up being a score draw.

Referee

Andre Marriner (West Midlands)

This will be the fifth time he's taken charge of a United game this term.

Charity bet

The game to end in a draw at 4/1.

Rob Lee: 'The worry is that people have stopped talking about Newcastle as a big club now'
