Newcastle United vs Crystal Palace: Lee Ryder's weekend preview

The Magpies go into this game looking for a sixth consecutive win at St James' Park and are in their best form at St James' since 2004.

But they will have to put an improved display after the 2-0 defeat against the Gunners.

This time they shouldn't be on the defensive though and Palace is a much less daunting proposition.

Lee Ryder's prediction

Three points will all but seal United's place back in the Premier League next season and a win should surely set the bar too high for Cardiff City.

Two things United have to get right is the service to Salomon Rondon and also look more organised than they were at the Emirates when it comes to their back five.

Palace have some major threats in Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend but I think Newcastle will edge this one and pick up a 2-0 win.

Referee

Stuart Attwell (Nuneaton)

Was the man in the middle against Cardiff City earlier in the season.

Charity bet

Newcastle to take another home win at 6/4.
