Newcastle United vs Brighton & Hove Albion: Lee Ryder's Premier League prediction

Newcastle United's 100% record in all competitions is at stake against the Seagulls but Steve Bruce is expecting nothing but a tricky encounter against Graham Potter's side (Sunday 2pm).

The Magpies will shuffle their pack again after making 10 changes in the narrow 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers at St James' Park.

That could see Ryan Fraser return to the bench against Brighton with another League Cup at Morecambe on the horizon and already earmarked for further squad rotation.

Lee Ryder's prediction

Brighton have been Newcastle's bogey side in the Premier League since the Magpies pipped them for the Sky Bet Championship trophy in 2017.

In six matches Brighton have won two and held Newcastle to four frustrating draws, not least last term with two dire stalemates on Tyneside then again on the South Coast.

In short, Newcastle owe them one here and with Callum Wilson leading the line and Jeff Hendrick, Jamal Lewis and the potential threat of Fraser's pace from the sidelines, this time it could be different.

His last visit to St James' Park saw him issue a red card to Sean Longstaff against Wolves.

Charity bet

The Magpies to win at 17/10.
