Newcastle United vs AFC Bournemouth: Lee Ryder's Premier League prediction

Newcastle United go into this game looking for the dream way to sign off for the international break as they bid for back to back wins.

The Magpies looked comfortable for 70 minutes at West Ham before defensive woes kicked in at the end.

Strangely, for the majority of this season, Newcastle have looked relatively solid (Leicester away aside) but they will be looking for a strong foundation to build from against the Cherries and then will look to expose the visitors on the break.

Lee Ryder's prediction

United boss Steve Bruce has hit back at a few critics in the last week or so but now must back up the win against the Hammers in front of home support.

For all Bournemouth have had a decent campaign so far - currently sitting seventh - they do have a wobble in them.

On the road they are far from invincible and I expected United to just about edge it at St James' Park.

Again, patience may need to be the watchword again.

Referee

Martin Atkinson (West Yorkshire)

His third appointment with Newcastle this term after officiating home games against Arsenal and Brighton.

Charity bet

Newcastle to win at 8/5.
