Newcastle United under-21s have also had their next fixture postponed following Queen Elizabeth II’s death. Premier League and EFL statements announced today that no professional football will be played in England following Her Majesty’s passing on Thursday.
The UK is in a state of national mourning after the death of the country's longest-reigning monarch. Football supporters must put travel plans on ice ahead of the latest round of fixtures.
This announcement covers youth football, too, with Premier League 2 games also scrapped. The young Magpies were due to travel to Aston Villa on Friday night but the game will now be rearranged.

“The club joins the country in observing a period of national mourning. The Magpies were scheduled to travel to the London Stadium for a 2pm kick-off this Sunday, however, a new date will be set in due course.
“Meanwhile, Newcastle United Under-21s' fixture at Aston Villa on Friday evening has also been postponed.”
