Newcastle United transfer rumours as Mason Mount future in doubt amid Nick Pope contract talks

Your Newcastle United transfer rumours for Monday, March 6.

Chelsea exit for Newcastle-linked Mason Mount increasingly likely

Newcastle target Mason Mount could be headed for the exit door at Stamford Bridge this summer with the midfielder still yet to sign a new contract with Chelsea ahead of his current deal expiring next summer.

According to transfers expert Fabrizio Romano, contract talks between Mount and the west London outfit 'are in stand-by' which could give Newcastle the green light to pounce in the summer.

If the 24-year-old is unable to agree an extension to his stay with his boyhood club, the Blues will almost certainly look to cash in on the Englishman instead of allowing him to become a free agent in 2024.

Should the Magpies still withhold an interest in Mount, they will certainly be keeping an eye on the England international's situation ahead of a potential pursuit in the summer.

Nick Pope to be rewarded with bumper new contract

First-choice Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope is set to be handed a new contract worth £100,000 per week after an excellent first season on Tyneside.

According to the Sun, the Magpies will offer the England international with a new deal to show their confidence in the 30-year-old who's current deal expires in summer 2026.

With 16 clean sheets in 29 appearances, Pope has been a major contributor to Eddie Howe's side's success this term and can still prove to be a major asset for years to come.

Newcastle monitoring Real Madrid striker

18-year-old Real Madrid loanee Iker Bravo is being monitored by Newcastle and Liverpool ahead of a potential summer move, according to FourFourTwo.

Having joined on loan from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen to play in Los Blancos' Castilla side for the season, clubs are now monitoring the teenager's situation.

Both a permanent move to Real Madrid or integration into the Leverkusen first team look unlikely with Bravo scoring just two goals in 18 appearances in the Spanish third-tier.
