Newcastle United are set to interview candidates for the role of sporting director "this week" according to the latest reports.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano told Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE, that the club's new hierarchy were planning on holding talks with potential candidates this week.
The Magpies have been linked with a number of high profile figures in recent weeks - who'll be tasked with rebuilding the club from top to bottom.

The likes of Michael Emenalo, Luis Campos, Michael Edwards, Jason Wilcox and most recently Ramon Planes.
Former Chelsea and Monaco technical director Emenalo is reported to be the front runner for the position as Amanda Staveley and the Saudi consortium ramp up proceedings on Tyneside.
“Yes, he’s one of the possibilities,” said Romano.
“They’re going to decide on their director in some days, they’re going to meet with some directors this week.
“Emenalo is one of them, so let’s see what they will decide who is the right man to build this new Newcastle project.”
Emenalo is often credited for unearthing the likes of Mo Salah, Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois during his time at Stamford Bridge.
However, if the Magpies appointment of Eddie Howe is anything to go by, the new owners of the club will take a measured approach to appointing a new director, with a long term vision of restoring Newcastle's pride.
