Newcastle United tie down hot prospect Elliot Anderson on long-term contract

Newcastle United have extended Elliot Anderson’s contract and turned it into a long-term deal.

As reported by Chronicle Live this week the youngster has been promoted to the senior squad on a permanent basis.

And after turning 18, United have opted to reward the talented forward with enhanced terms until the summer of 2024.

Anderson said after signing: "It's a year on from my first one and when I got told that they were going to offer me a new contract, I was buzzing.

"I didn't really expect it but it makes you want to keep pushing on and see that rewards are given here.

“It helps you keep going and I'm really pleased.”

Anderson was an unused sub in the League Cup at Newport County earlier this term, with Steve Bruce saying at the time: "He’s done very, very well. We’ve got a few knocks, so we decided to reward him by putting him on the bench.

"In another game, he might’ve come on. He's another one with a bright future."
