Newcastle United teenager Joe White scores injury-time winner in U18 Tyne-Wear derby at Sunderland

Newcastle United Under-18s pulled off a dramatic stoppage time win over Sunderland in the mini Wear-Tyne derby.

The young Magpies had been trailing to a goal early in the first half at the Academy of Light from Josh Baggs who scored on 50 minutes, but they managed to turn things around in the second period with a stunning comeback.

Coach Neil Winskill's youngsters refused to throw the towel in and levelled the game up with just two minutes remaining.

Exciting teenager Joe White crossed from the right with Josh Harrison applying the finish from close range.

Yet the drama was far from over and there would be a late, late twist in stoppage time.

The youngster, who has trained with the first team and impressed Steve Bruce this season, broke into the box and fired home to win it for the Magpies.

It is a result that will live long in the memory for some of United's talented young guns.

UNITED: Brown, Oliver, Midgley, Carlyon, Swailes (Brannen 80), Gamblin, Gilchrist, Rounsfell (Scott 80) Stephenson, White, Harrison
