Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has handed Javier Manquillo the nod over DeAndre Yedlin for the clash with Manchester City.
The Spaniard replaces the hip victim for the encounter with the champions after getting the nod over Emil Krafth.
But Bruce kept faith with the rest of the XI that lost 2-0 at Aston Villa after vowing to give them another chance.
It meant that Sean and Matty Longstaff were made to wait for their chance on the bench while Dwight Gayle's wait for a start continues.
Fabian Schar also sat out with Paul Dummett holding on to his place despite being hooked in the game against Villa.
