Newcastle United team news: Four changes as Steve Bruce rotates his squad

Steve Bruce opted to rotate his squad for the clash at Goodison Park with both Matty and Sean Longstaff restored to the starting XI.

The game came too early for Nabil Bentaleb with the Algerian international not registered in time for the encounter on Merseyside.

Christian Atsu was also back in the side while Matt Ritchie started against the Toffees.

Isaac Hayden replaced Emil Krafth at right wing-back.

Jonjo Shelvey was only afforded a place on the bench but the club’s lack of senior figures were exposed with Tom Allan and Liam Gibson named as subs.

Bruce opted against risking Allan Saint-Maximin after the Frenchman played 90 minutes against Chelsea.

Everton : Pickford, Sidibie, Digne, Mina, Holgate, Schneiderlin, Delph, Bernard, Walcott, Kean, Calvert-Lewin

Subs: Lossl, Baines, Keane, Coleman, Davies, Niasse, Gordon

United : Dubravka, Fernandez, Lascelles, Clark, Ritchie, Hayden, S.Longstaff, M.Longstaff, Atsu, Almiron, Joelinton

Subs: Darlow, Schar, Shelvey, Krafth, Lejeune, Gibson, Allan
