Newcastle United team news: Emil Krafth and Jetro Willems pass late fitness tests

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce was boosted by the return of Joelinton and Miguel Almiron to his starting line-up for the home clash with Watford.

Both players have shaken off knocks and lead the line against the Hornets.

Bruce also handed a start to Christian Atsu, with Matt Ritchie out for two months, while Jetro Willems also found himself in the opening XI.

Sean Longstaff and Isaac Hayden retained their places in the midfield engine room with Jonjo Shelvey remaining on the bench.

Bruce said before the game: “The urge to the supporters is to get right behind the team again.

“I thought the crowd were excellent against Leicester.

“If they can help us and contribute to us making it a decent start to a difficult opening.

“It took us until the 11-game mark to collect six points and to do that after four games would be good.”

UNITED :  Dubravka, Krafth, Dummett, Schar, Lascelles, Willems, Almiron, Hayden, Longstaff, Atsu, Joelinton

Subs : Darlow, Clark, Sung-yeung, Shelvey, Muto, Fernandez, Manquillo
