Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce handed Elias Sorensen a start against West Ham in Shanghai.
Bruce wanted to take a closer look at the Danish youngster and still has Dwight Gayle out with a a calf injury. Sean Longstaff was named on the bench for the encounter with the Hammers.
Newcastle handed Jack Colback another start while Jamie Sterry continued at right-back. Ben Dawson will be on the touchline again as Bruce takes a watching brief.
