Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce named his final team of pre-season for the clash with Stoke City at an empty St James' Park.
The Magpies went with a surprise midfield selection of Dan Barlaser and Sean Longstaff while Jacob Murphy got another chance out wide.
Bruce also named Andy Carroll in attack against the Potters while Joelinton and Yoshinori Muto were on the bench after a period of isolation.
Joelinton or Muto have no pre-season minutes to their name this summer.
Notably, there was no place in the squad for Matt Ritchie with the winger's agent conducting talks with AFC Bournemouth this week.
Paul Dummett is ruled out with a muscle injury while Jamaal Lascelles is banned after a red card against Boro this week.
Fabian Schar, Dwight Gayle and Martin Dubravka are all injured.
