Newcastle United target Jarrod Bowen will not be sold for £20m - according to Hull City owner

Hull City owner Assem Allam insists the club would resist offers for Newcastle United target Jarrod Bowen of up to £20 million in the January window.

The in-form forward has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs including the Magpies, and has already bagged 12 goals in the Championship so far this season.

The 22-year-old's future with the Tigers has come under intense scrutiny in the last few weeks.

Bowen was offered a new deal by Hull last month with his current contract set to expire at the end of this season, with the club already having the option to trigger a one-year extension.

The club remain adamant they are under no financial pressure to cash in on the 22-year-old, and hope to keep the forward for the rest of the season to maintain their promotion push.

Bowen has now netted 50 goals for Hull City, and is top scorer in the top four division of English football in 2019.

Speaking to ITV News Calendar , Allam said: "We resisted six months ago and we hope we will be successful in keeping Jarrod again.

"I wouldn't sell him for £20m."
