Newcastle United takeover: Amanda Staveley's new vow as she talks about 'investment' in the North East

Amanda Staveley has vowed that the Middle East consortium are not going anywhere with Newcastle United fans praying the takeover dream is still alive.

Staveley, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and the Reuben brothers are awaiting the outcome of the legal battle between Mike Ashley and the Premier League.

And having been told by Ashley to have their funds ready, Staveley and Co are desperate to get the green light for the £340million deal.

Speaking in a new interview with ITV Tyne Tees, Staveley said: “I’m frustrated and saddened (by the year long wait).

“This is an investment post-Covid, post-Brexit that is going into Newcastle and the North of England and I think it’s really important.

“We’ve had thousands and thousands of letters.

“We read and we can’t respond to all of them but we are so grateful for the support we’ve had and we don’t want to let you down.

“We are still here today, still waiting patiently, for this process to go forward.”

Ashley is waiting to hear if his anti-competition claim has reached the hearing stage while the arbitration case is still to come in July.
