Newcastle United Supporters Trust survey reveals delight in stands at St James' Park

Newcastle United’s Supporters Trust have released the results of their latest survey. The survey, which ran between June 23 and July 3, is their second of the year and consulted fans on a range of topics.

2022 has been an excellent year for Newcastle both on and off the pitch, and the results of this survey are reflective of that. Supporters were first asked about their satisfaction with how Newcastle are performing on the pitch and the response was overwhelmingly positive.

Eddie Howe’s side were one of the most in form teams in the Premier League following the turn of the new year and the fact 99.2% of members were happy or very happy with the outcome of the 2021/22 campaign is reflective in that. 94.2% are also confident that Newcastle can achieve a top 10 finish in the new season and given that this has only been done once in the last eight years, it is indicative of the direction the club are heading.

Off the pitch, it has been all change over the last 12 months and again, members of the NUST couldn’t be much happier with how it is going. 98.5% are satisfied or very satisfied with the start the new owners have made, while 95.9% feel the same about the level of communication from the owners.

The final topic NUST members were questioned on was football governance. 79.7% of members would like to see an independent regulator for English football, while 84% want to see the introduction of the golden share, which would allow fans to have an input in the running of their club on a number of key decisions.
