Newcastle United Supporters Trust issue Southampton travel advice as Flybe faces collapse

Newcastle United Supporters Trust have reacted to the news that Flybe is on the verge of collapse ahead of the clash at Southampton.

The Magpies face Southampton on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League and fans have been hit with a potential blow prior to the fixture.

Flybe is reportedly on the brink of collapse putting 2,000 jobs at risk and it could also have an impact on supporters, who were planning on travelling down to Southampton via Newcastle International Airport.

There is the potential of the company, which operates almost half of Britain's domestic flights, folding within days.

Hundreds of Newcastle fans are expected to fly with Flybe to Southampton this weekend for the Premier League clash and the Supporters Trust has now issued a message on social media.

"With the breaking news regarding Flybe, it’s likely a few Newcastle fans had plans to fly down to Southampton this weekend and could be affected," Newcastle United Supporters Trust tweeted on Wednesday evening .

"If anyone has a bus running or knows of a bus with available space, let us know and we’ll spread the word as much as possible."
