Newcastle United supporters send PSG 'he's going nowhere' message amid Sven Botman links

Newcastle United supporters have told Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain to keep 'dreaming' after rumours began to swirl around a potential swoop in for Magpies central defender Sven Botman.

The 23-year-old has been vital to Eddie Howe's side this season, having joined in last summer's transfer window, and has started all but two Premier League matches this season alongside Fabian Schar.

Despite his impressive performances for Newcastle, he's yet to be handed his first senior cap for the Dutch, something that is sure to change soon though once the international break rolls around later this month.

However, whether he's internationally capped or not doesn't appear to be a deterrent to other European clubs as reports have claimed that PSG are just one of many clubs that hold interest in the star after their own centre-back Presnel Kimpembe suffered another Achilles injury last week.

Many Toon fans took to social media to discuss the rumours though, with some claiming the Ligue 1 champions were 'dreaming' while others pointed out that they could've signed him while he played against them for Lille before he moved to St. James' Park.

Dave Jeffery: "He won't want to move to a club who's never going to win the Champions League! So PSG are binned off!"

Eoin Buggy: "Absolutely dreaming if they think they will get him. I think he’s a future captain for the club."

Michael O'Callaghan: "So they should be. A testament to his performances, which in my view slip under the radar due to the pure quality we have in all five defensive roles. Not happening though. In a long contract and we have big ambitions as a club."

Andrew Field: "Straight swap for Mbappe."

Alan Rutherford: "I’m sure we won’t be selling Botman this summer, however to suggest we aren’t a selling club, where’s the evidence? What I see is an ownership who are making it very clear that FFP is restricting our purchasing power, so I imagine if acceptable bids for certain players received, generating cash, I’d be surprised if we didn’t cash in."

Alastair Nichol: "He turned down AC Milan to sign for us, he’s going nowhere."

Shaun Miller: "Had the chance when he played in France."
