Newcastle United suffer two fresh injuries with Emil Krafth set for a six week absence

Steve Bruce is hoping that the arrivals of Valentino Lazaro and Nabil Bentaleb will boost his squad after suffering two fresh injuries.

In a season that has been dominated by treatment room woe, Emil Krafth and Florian Lejeune are now back under the watch of medics at Benton.

Both were injured in the 2-2 draw with Everton this week leaving Bruce disappointed on the injury front once again.

Bruce said: “Emil, unfortunately, is going to miss the next six weeks.

“He battled on manly the other night but it was a bad challenge he came under and he has done his ankle ligaments.

“Florian Lejeune picked up a groin injury scoring the overhead kick.

“Valentino Lazaro is an addition to the squad.

“We lost a couple on Tuesday night so the two lads coming into the squad (Bentaleb and Lazaro) give us a lift by their presence.

“I hope both will make their debuts.”
