Martin Dubravka faced the music after Slovakia's 5-0 defeat against Spain and typically took responsibility for his own unfortunate mistake.
The Newcastle United shot-stopper is usually the first to relay messages to supporters in the wake of negativity when others choose to pass by the Press at St James' Park.
But Dubravka did not waste any time accepting his role in Slovakia's exit, speaking after the game he said: "The first goal was my fault.

"I will regret this for a long time.
"The second made it tough for us until the end of the game.
"After that, Spain controlled the game much more easily."
Having saved a penalty it looked like a shock could have been on the cards for Slovakia before the goals flowed in Seville.
Dubravka was also supported by his Slovakia coach Stefan Tarkovic after the game, he said: "He will never get such a goal in his life.
"It is unfortunate for him also because it happened at the European Championships.
"Mistakes belong to life, especially in football.
"For me personally, this is not an easy situation, as I try to create support for the players.
"If I had to blame them for their mistakes, they can't play football."
