Newcastle United sources have denied that Rafa Benitez has been offered a new deal.
Reports on Sunday morning have suggested that the former Real Madrid boss will be handed the chance to sign a £15million mega offer to manage the club for a further season.
However, United chiefs insist that talks with Mike Ashley will not commence until next week and there will be no further dialogue until the dust settles after today's final game of the season against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Benitez had said on Friday: "We have one game to play and have to try to do well.
"We can finish one position higher in the table and we will try to do that.
"After that, we will know. I have some players asking me questions but still I don’t know.
"If we have waited eight months, we can wait another ten days.
"I am sure I will be there at the meeting. Lee Charnley has to be there, but I do not know who else.
"Mike Ashley? I expect he will be there. I don’t want to talk too much about the meeting because still we do not know."
What is certain ahead of the meeting is that Benitez wants to see more flexibility on the club's transfer policy.
Ashley wants to impose a blueprint of signing younger players but Benitez feels that more experience is required to transform the Magpies from relegation fodder into top eight materal.
