Newcastle United sent relegation and transfer warning after Norwich City result

Gabby Agbonlahor has warned Newcastle there's no guaranteed wins in the Premier League after yesterday's draw with fellow strugglers Norwich City.

The result sees the Canaries leapfrog Burnley into 17th while the Magpies remain bottom of the Premier League and host the Clarets at St. James' Park this weekend.

The former Aston Villa forward hasn't completely ruled out Newcastle's chances of survival but stressed they need "talented players" in the January transfer window.

"Look how hard it is to even get a win now in the Premier League," said Agbonlahor on talkSPORT.

"They've got Burnley at the weekend and that's a tough game. Burnley are organised, they've got two strikers who can score goals.

"There's no game out there where you can go 'alright you can go and beat Brentford'.

"When I played there was a Derby [County]. Alright I'm going to score first, you're going to scored second and you end up beating Derby six or seven nil. They don't have those teams now in the Premier League so you don't have guaranteed points.

"Before - we'll beat these teams tomorrow you don't even have to try your hardest.

"I just think if they can spend wisely and bring in top players then they've got a chance.

"If they can keep it to four, five or six points and then bring in some talented players, there's no reason why they can't get out of it."
