Newcastle United see February away fixture moved for TV coverage

Newcastle United's clash at West Ham has now been given an earlier kick-off time after being selected for TV coverage.

Eddie Howe's side are still in action in the capital on February 19, but the contest at the London Stadium will now get under way at 12.30pm.

BT Sport has selected the contest for live coverage, with the reverse fixture on the opening day of the season broadcast by Sky Sports.

Callum Wilson handed the Magpies a dream start with a header after just five minutes, but Steve Bruce's side ultimately succumbed to a 4-2 defeat at St James' Park on August 15.

Newcastle's trip to Brentford on February 26 has not been selected by broadcasters, and will remain a 3pm kick-off.

It is the latest fixture rearrangement to cause the travelling Toon Army a headache, with previous picks against Arsenal and Brighton being heavily criticised.

United's clash at the Amex Stadium on November 6 was moved to 5.30pm, largely ruling out public transport for those looking to return to the North East on the same day.

It was an earlier start at the Emirates Stadium on November 27, with BT Sport again selecting a Magpies away-day fixture for a 12.30pm slot.
