Newcastle United's tough transfer stance on Nottingham Forest target revealed - report

Newcastle United want any club who take Nottingham Forest transfer target Christian Atsu on loan to pay all of his wages, according to reports.

The Sun say Steve Bruce's side want his wages in full before they send him out.

Forest and Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers and Fulham have been linked with a move for Atsu on deadline day.

Atsu has made 22 appearances for United this season and is yet to score.

He has, though, contributed four assists.

The Ghanaian international has only started six matches in the Premier League and appears out of favour with Bruce having been left on the substitute's bench for four of the past nine League games.

Atsu was signed by Newcastle from Chelsea in 2017 after a loan spell at St James' Park.

He has extensive Premier League experience, playing in 79 matches in the English top flight and has a promotion from the Championship under his belt with Newcastle in 2016-17.

The winger scored five times and registered three assists under Rafa Benitez.
