Newcastle United had a relatively quiet transfer window, recruiting more players for their academy than they did for the first-team.
Fan favourite Joe Willock arrived on a permanent deal from Arsenal having impressed on loan at St James' Park last season, but he was the only senior player signed.
Despite adding just one player to the senior squad, Newcastle's squad value is still higher than some of their top flight counterparts who have recruited heavily.
Transfermarkt estimates the Magpies squad has a value of £218.61m, ranking them 14th in the Premier League for total squad value.
This places Newcastle above Crystal Palace, who landed the likes of Marc Guehi, Joachim Andersen, Will Hughes, Michael Olise and Odsonne Edouard in a busy first transfer window for the newly-appointed Patrick Vieira.
Newcastle also have a higher squad value than Southampton despite the Saints being much more active in the transfer market, although Ralph Hasenhuttl has lost the likes of Jannik Vestergaard and Danny Ings.
Manchester City sit top of the squad value rankings, despite Manchester United announcing the return of Cristiano Ronaldo and also bolstering their ranks with the signings of Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho.
Chelsea and Liverpool complete the top four, whilst Brentford, Burnley and Watford sit in the bottom three.
