Newcastle United's grand plan to make it at least THREE deadline day deals

Newcastle United are trying to revive their bid for Jesse Lingard - but have a race against time to get the deal done.

However, Manchester United remain open to what would be a sizeable offer and a huge loan fee with bonuses is ultimately what the deal for the winger now boils down to.

Newcastle had been quoted as much as £19million in total last week as the Red Devils seemingly made life difficult for the former West Ham loan star to leave.

The Hammers have been linked with Lingard again on deadline day after he visited Man United's training ground to push for his departure.

The other deal that hangs in the balance as deadline day reaches an intense finale is the big offer Newcastle made for Hugo Ekitike of Reims.

Sources in France have been briefing the media that the 19-year-old was not sure about the prospect of joining Newcastle.

But the two clubs are still engaged in dialogue with the status of the negotiations very much ongoing.

A deal worth around €40million is thought to be the tipping point for Reims but it is now down to the player himself.

With Matt Targett set to join from Aston Villa on loan and Dan Burn due to complete his move from Brighton, United are still fighting hard to end the day with at least three incoming deals.
