Newcastle United have collected four points from their opening Premier League fixtures and a League Two side stand between them and the last eight of the League Cup.
But things are never as straightforward as they seem at St James' Park and there is some disquiet about the performances against Brighton - in which Newcastle were heavily beaten - and on Sunday, when they took a point despite failing to register a shot on target until the 97th minute.
With the takeover still bubbling in the background, Mike Ashley back at matches and the club spinning plates in the transfer market, there are plenty of issues to rake over.
