Newcastle United poised to announce Danny Rose deal, Giroud in Lazio talks, Ki facing deadline day agony

Newcastle United look set to complete a move for Danny Rose ahead of deadline day - but French striker Olivier Giroud is talking to Lazio about a move to Serie A.

The former Arsenal man stated to his agent that his preferred option was to stay in the south or move back into Europe.

Giroud's move to Inter Milan had collapsed for financial reasons but a move to Italy is now back on the cards.

But the loan acquisition of Rose from Spurs - for a £2million loan fee - has been deemed an excellent move by Steve Bruce and his coaching staff.

With Jetro Willems and Paul Dummett out injured until the end of the season, Rose is deemed a high quality option for the remainder of the campaign at United.

His arrival means that Newcastle must create squad space for Rose with Ki a candidate to lose his squad number.

Ki has been offered out to numerous clubs but there have been no takers for his £60,000 per week wages.

However, he could be the unlucky man to lose his squad place for the second half of the season.
