Former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood does not think Frank Lampard is the right man for Newcastle United.
The Magpies are currently sat in the bottom three with no wins from their opening nine matches and are on the lookout for a new manager.
Following the completion of the takeover earlier this month, speculation surrounding Steve Bruce’s future at the club was rife and they eventually relieved him of his duties in the wake of their 3-2 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Lampard is one of several names who have been linked with the vacancy in recent weeks as the owners begin to rebuild the club after Mike Ashley’s departure.
The likes of Steven Gerrard, Paulo Fonseca and Erik Ten Hag are among the other names the Magpies also have an interest in.
But speaking to the Kelly and Wright show, Sherwood claimed that Lampard isn’t the right fit for a club in the midst of a relegation fight.
He said: “Not for me. Personality-wise, I think Frank is more, I think if you are down the bottom of the league, you need to be up and at them.
“You need to have that personality. Be aggressive. I think Frank is a little bit more astute.”
Lampard has been out of work since the beginning of this year when he was sacked by Chelsea after just 18 months in charge.
He was appointed as Blues boss following a decent debut season in management at Derby County when the Rams missed out on promotion after a defeat to Aston Villa in the play-off final.
And during his first campaign at the Blues, he guided them to a top four finish despite a transfer embargo.
