Newcastle United head coach Steve Bruce opted to name Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin on the bench for their clash at Burnley.
Bruce named Ciaran Clark in his starting line-up and there was a recall for Fede Fernandez in his defence with Jamaal Lascelles injured and Emil Krafth dropped.
Jonjo Shelvey was handed the captain's armband in the absence of the former Nottingham Forest man.
Bruce was also able to bring back Andy Carroll as a substitute following a niggle.
Joe Willock was only deemed worthy of a place on the sidelines despite scoring the vital equaliser last weekend.
