Newcastle United are set to sign Liverpool's rookie defender Remi Savage.
The Magpies have offered the 19-year-old a three-year contract and Toon sources say the deal could be confirmed soon, however, he is expected to be part of the Under-23 set-up and will work with Chris Hogg and Peter Ramage's second string.
Savage has not made a first-team appearance for the Reds and featured in the EFL Trophy and Premier League 2 for Liverpool last term.
United though have offered a professional contract for the player and will expect him to challenge for the first-team squad for the duration of his deal.

Savage only penned a professional deal with Liverpool in June 2020 after being part of the Kop side that won the FA Youth Cup in 2019.
Liverpool's website speaks of Savage highly and say: "Remi Savage joined Liverpool's academy as an U9 player.
"Equally comfortable as a left-side centre-back or left-back, Remi is very competitive with a strong will to win.
"He made his U18s debut as an U16 player under Steven Gerrard in 2017-18, and promptly netted his first goal during a 2-1 win over Wolves in Kirkby.
"In 2018-19, Remi was part of the victorious FA Youth Cup squad after the dramatic penalty shootout victory over Manchester City in the final."
Newcastle's Academy has had a revamp in recent months with the departure of Joe Joyce and expected confirmation of a new youth set-up chief.
Former Newcastle and Hull City goalkeeper Steve Harper is believed to be in the box seat to take the top job at Little Benton.
